Gillian is an international sports journalist who covers Russia’s men’s and women’s hockey leagues. She was the first American to work as a locker room reporter in the KHL, and traveled between Russia and China with the league’s newest expansion team—Kunlun Red Star Beijing. Her work has appeared several times on the cover of Sport-Express and she has been interviewed on numerous radio, television and podcast shows around the globe. Prior to winning the 2018 Alfa Fellowship and moving to Moscow, Gillian was the lead anchor & head of programming for financial news network Asset TV, where she conceptualized, produced and hosted a sports business program titled Sportfolio. Gillian holds an M.Sc. in International Management from the London School of Economics, a B.A. in Economics from Columbia University, and a broadcast journalism certificate from the New York Film Academy.
